Could the afternoon get any more frustrating?
James Carrington threw back the last of his beer in one quick swallow, grateful the work day had ended. One of his top clients had threatened to take her business elsewhere because he had advised her against changing her stock options yet again. Never mind it was the third time she had changed them this month. And if that didn’t beat all, he’d had a flat tire and had to catch a cab.
“Ready for another?”
James looked up from his empty beer and nodded at the bartender. She handed him another brew and smiled, but with his mind preoccupied he didn’t return the friendly gesture. Despite her beauty, his thoughts stayed on Rachael.
“You waiting on someone?” she asked.
“Yeah.” Waiting on Charles’ late ass. Again. Would that brother ever show up on time? “Thanks.”
James sucked down a third of the new draft, wishing it was Rachael’s pussy he sucked on instead.
10. Sneak Peak Excerpt – Second Chances by Angeleque Ford -
Run.
Turn around, get in your car and go before anyone sees you.
Those were the first thoughts in Elaina Matthews’ mind as she approached the back gate.
She didn’t want to intrude, and knowing her presence may cause conflict, Elaina opted to follow her instincts and leave. She was heading back towards her car when she felt a hand on her arm, stopping her mid-stride.
“Running away?” the deep, molasses-thick voice inquired.
Elaina took a step back instinctively and whirled around. Her smile was immediate as she met the dark chocolate orbs of Sebastian Ramos as he stared back at her.
“No, avoiding a bad situation.” She hugged her friend, wanting to stay wrapped in his warm embrace, but given the situation and history, it would be considered inappropriate.
He frowned. “What’s wrong? I’m sure no one blames you for Nick’s death.”
Elaina couldn’t stop the harsh laugh that escaped. “It depends on who you ask.”

Come Chat with Dec 4th!
On Dec 4th, I will be chatting with my friend and writing buddy Angeleque Ford.
We’ll be chatting about books, writing and there may even be a sneak peak at upcoming projects.
Angeleque’s story Second Chances was released by Cobblestone Press. It shares a similar theme to Total Package because it deals with friends becoming lovers.
When Elaina Matthews ran into Sebastian Ramos at his grandmother’s house, she never expected it would lead to another night of wild sex. Or to a relationship.
Sebastian knows what he wants and that’s Elaina in his life and in his bed, forever. He moves full-steam ahead in getting her to agree to a relationship. But will his desire for Elaina overwhelm her and end their relationship before it really starts. And there is another problem on the horizon for the new couple – what will his family say when they discover he’s dating his brother’s ex?
The chat is scheduled for December 4th at 7pm CST/8pm EST www.cobblestone-press.com.
So if you’ve wanted to know anything about our latest releases, our writing habits or what we’re working on now, this is the perfect chance to ask.
P.S. And there will be giveaways.

Interview with Mace Walker, FBI Agent
1. Mace, what made you want to become an FBI agent?
I know this may sound corny, but I really wanted to fight crime. I considered becoming a police officer but love challenges and I knew it was a challenge to get into the FBI. I can't resist a challenge whether it has to do with my job… or getting the attention of an attractive female.
2. How long have you done it? Is it in your genes?
Right out of college. I obtained my B.S. in Criminal Justice with a minor in Spanish.
Since I speak Spanish it didn’t take much to learn Italian. I sort of look Italian so the agency thought I’d fit right in with the Mafia. Manni Spinozi is one of the worst mob bosses out there. After three years of being a junior agent, I went undercover to infiltrate the Spinozi family.
No, it’s not in my genes. My father was a college professor. No one that I know of in my family was in law enforcement.
3. Have you ever shot anyone?
Yes. I’ve shot several subjects. I’ve killed one out of self-defense. He was actually Spinozi’s brother. He shot me first when I was “made” by the family. Half of my thigh is gone. It’s an ugly injury and put me out of commission.
4. So you are out on disability right now? How do you like that forced vacation?
Yes. I am doing physical therapy, trying to redevelop the remaining muscle in my thigh. I walk with a slight limp when it is bothering me. I want to work my way back to full strength so I can get back to work.
I needed a break, so I’m not complaining too much. But I wish it was just a vacation and not a “recovery.” I was getting pretty worn out physically and mentally playing the role of a mob thug 24/7.
5. Are you glad to be home?
Yes, I was gone – deep undercover – for two years. So it’s nice to be back home, being myself and not having to act a part.
Though I came home to find a stranger in my house.
6. A stranger? Who was it?
Yes, I had no idea someone was living in my house besides my sister. It has made being home a little more interesting. And that’s putting it mildly.
You’ll have to read Banged Up, which is my story, to find out who she is.
7. Do you have any siblings?
Yes, one sister, Maxi. She was living in my house while I was away undercover. But I came home to find out she had married and went on an extended European honeymoon. Apparently, she let this stranger live in my house while she is gone.
8. How about love interests?
A man doesn’t kiss and tell. But if you really want to know, again, you’ll have to read Banged Up which is coming out in ebook on September 21st at Liquid Silver Books.
9. What do you think about a story that was written about you?
I found it interesting… I can’t complain about the steamy scenes and I really liked the ending.
Read more about Mace Walker in Banged Up by Jeanne St. James – available NOW at Liquid Silver Books (www.tinyurl.com/bangedup). You can read more about Banged Up, including an excerpt, at her website at www.jeannestjames.com.

BLURB FOR BANGED UP, now available at Liquid Silver Books at http://www.tinyurl.com/bangedup:
Two scarred souls: one physically, one mentally. Both on the mend, hiding from their pasts…
Mace Walker can’t wait to get home.
Being buried deep undercover for the past two years, on the most complex case of his career, has torn him down physically and mentally. Now the FBI agent has come home to recover after having his leg badly injured from a gunshot wound. Arriving home late one night, his relief is short-lived as he’s faced with a stranger pointing a gun to his head, acting like he is the one who doesn’t belong there!
Colby Parks, a biochemist at the local university, had come to town a year earlier to escape an abusive relationship. She vows never to put herself in that situation again.
Then the perfect opportunity comes along: house-sitting for Mace’s sister while making the house she purchased habitable. But she couldn’t anticipate this big snag: the one wearing the tight Levi’s and worn leather jacket, looking like he had just escaped prison.
Being forced to share a house creates sparks between them in more ways than one. However, things take a turn when their pasts catch up to them, threatening to pull them apart forever.

Interviewing with Angeleque Ford
When did you first consider yourself a writer?
I’ve always written for as long as I can remember whether it was short stories or plays or poetry. But it wasn’t until I found eharlequin.com and romancedivas.com did I start to get serious about my writing and noticed that slowly but surely my writing was progressing and improving.
What do you have published and where?
I have a novella published with Phaze Books titled Take Me As I Am. It is a contemporary, African American, M/M story. My latest release is a short story with Cobblestone Press titled Second Chances: A Ramos Brothers Story. It was just released on September 18th. It’s an interracial contemporary story.
Bio –
Angeleque was born and raised to be a “good girl.” She followed the rules until she
graduated college. She decided to have fun and live by her own rules. Angeleque is the
bad girl to her real life good girl who wants to have fun and live life to its fullest. The
practical side of Angeleque (who always has money saved up for bail) is one of the
aspects of the real me which shines through.
She loves to travel, has a thirst and passion for life and love that shines through in her
writing. She admits to liking sex (and is not afraid to admit it), motorcycles, leather and
roller coasters. And can appreciate the sexiness and mystery of both genders.

Total Package Out Right Now!
I'm so excited to announce the release of Total Package through Cobblestone Press!
Here's a blurb:
Rachael Thomas' career is jeopardized when a bachelor drops out of the professional bachelors’ spread. Frantic to find a replacement, she turns to neighbor, James Carrington.
James wants more than just being Rachael’s ‘good friend’ and seizes the opportunity...with one condition--she must spend the night with him!
Excerpt:
He checked his watch and sighed. Charles was a half-hour late, probably knee-deep in pussy.
Charles was a ladies’ man and would know what he should do about Rachael. His advice would probably be to hit it and keep on moving, but it wasn’t that easy for James.
Rachael had tapped into the innermost part of his soul, and he was sure that if she let down her guard, he could tap into hers. But he knew this wasn’t going to be an easy task.
“Hey, pick your lip off the floor before I step on it.”
James smiled. “Hey, thanks for showing up.” He stood and pounded his fist to Charles’.
“No problem. You sounded like you’re in a real funk. So, what’s up?” he asked claiming the stool next to his.
Charles turned to the bartender. “I’ll take a beer and another for my buddy here.”
He looked at James. “I want you to know I gave up a date with Lisa. Wait, maybe it was Linda, Louise—something like that.” Charles smiled at a woman across the bar.
“You’re a player, and one day, if you aren’t careful, you’re going to meet your match.”
“Maybe so, but until then there’s thirty-one flavors, and I intend to try all of them. Besides, I’m just having a little fun, that’s all. Now, what’s wrong?” Charles gave the woman a wink before turning back to James.
“Man, this thing with Rachael is driving me insane. I don’t know whether I’m coming or going. Every time I try to tell her my feelings, I choke. I just…”
“Hey, slow down, man.” Charles laughed and shook his head. “See, that’s what I’m talking about. Man, baby girl got you twisted. And you ain’t even sniffed the pussy. And you mean you never said anything to her?”
“Well, not exactly. I never really tried. I don’t want things to be strained between us if it doesn’t work out. Besides, you’ve seen the men she dates. Model types, you know.” He took a long swig of beer.
“Hey, J, you know what you need?” By the wicked gleam in Charles’ eyes, James knew it was another one of his lunatic schemes.
“Oh, no. Last time you gave me that look, we ended up on a road trip to Vegas. And I lost twelve hundred dollars. Remember?” Despite the less than perfect memory of the trip, James allowed a half smile. “You almost got us tossed in jail because you were drunk and started kicking the slot machine.” He shook his head. “No, thanks.”
“Man, that machine took my money. And I wasn’t drunk, I was buzzed.”
“Buzzed, drunk, whatever you wanna call it. You threw up in my car.” James shook his head, chuckling at his friend’s irritation. He took another sip of his beer. “But go ahead, even though I know I’m not going to like it. Right now, I’m desperate. What’s your brilliant idea?”
“When you going to let that shit die, man? That was a few years ago.” Charles took a drink of his beer. “Now about your Rachael problem. First off, she isn’t a mind reader. You got to step to her if you want her. Y‘all from two totally different worlds.”
Turning in his seat, he looked James in his eyes. “She’s ‘hood; you’re suburbs. That’s not the only difference. You come from money; she’s had to struggle to get where she is. You have to let her know even though you come from two totally different backgrounds that on some level you get her.” He paused. “Your problem is you’re trying to get at her without really knowing where she’s comin’ from. How much do you really know about her? And I’m not just talkin’ the basics. That’s the easy stuff. Number one rule, man, especially with a woman like Rachael—you gotta make love to her mind first before she’ll give up the panties. Turn her on mentally, and the panties will come off.”
James rolled his eyes. “I don’t think where we’re from has anything to do with this.”
“Whateva, man. I’m just telling you from experience. The last thing an around-the-way girl way wants is a suit. She wants a dude who’ll be down for whatever and got his shit together.” Charles downed the last of his beer. “My advice—lose the suit after business hours, just chill the hell out. Let her know James the man, not James the suit.”
“I refuse to go around with my pants hanging halfway down my ass. And I’m sure Rachael can appreciate a businessman as well as a thug.” He looked into his drink as if it would magically give him the answer to his problem.
“All I’m saying is relax. She needs to see you can have a good time and can lay it down on her. All it takes is one time to show her what’s up.” Charles finished then turned his attention back to his beer.
One time. One night. Maybe.
“Just out of curiosity, why haven’t you ever hooked up with her? I mean, you hang out all the time. Surely the subject has come up.” Charles gave James a sideways glance.
“We’re friends, so no, the topic never came up. She made it very clear she cares about getting ahead not settling down. She’s very driven. Her focus was and is on her career.”
“Friends. Say no more. You are in the dreaded friends’ zone.”
Charles broke into an off-pitch version of the Twilight Zone theme song and everyone in the joint turned toward them. James groaned and put his head on the bar.
“Cheer up, man.” Charles slapped James’ back so hard, his head shot up. “We’ll think of something. So no worries.” His buddy nodded to the bartender for another round.
James wondered if Rachael would treat him differently if she knew he had romantic feelings for her. He was determined to make her see him as more than a friend. He just didn’t know how. “No worries. Yeah, right,” he mumbled. “I’m going home.” Without another word, he dropped money on the bar and walked out.
* * * * *
James rode in the back of the cab in a daze. His thoughts remained on Rachael and how to get her to notice him as more than just the good guy next door. In the back of the cab, James was dazed, his thoughts on Rachael and how to get her to notice him for more than just the guy next door.
The cab pulled in front of his building. His eyes followed the row of apartments upward, seeking out Rachael’s apartment. A silhouette captured his attention. The fine lines of every peak and valley called to him. His hands itched to grip the hourglass shape of her waist as he entered her. His cock strained against his zipper. Releasing an expletive, he let his head fall back on the headrest.
Rachael seemed like an unobtainable goal. But, never one to give up on what he wanted, James racked his brain to formulate a plan.
He needed to show her the type of man he was, that he could be more than a friend and would treat her the way she wanted—no, needed—to be treated.
“Are you getting out or what, pal?” The cab driver shot him a dirty look.
“Sorry, man.” He tossed him a tip before climbing out.
Rachael had left her scarf in his truck the other night. That was as good excuse as any to stop by to see her. He ducked into his condo to get it before heading for Rachael’s. James paused in front of her door, shoulders squared and knocked.

* * * * *

Happy Birthday to the Americans With Disabilities Act
I know I suck at blogging big time(just like my tweet page) I neglect.
FOR SHAME!
But I wanted to pause and take a moment to say happy birthday to the Americans with Disabilities Act! It was signed on July 26th 1990 by George H. W. Bush.
Amendments were signed on September 25, 2009 by George W. Bush.
I work with people with disabilities and we celebrated by having a party outside with live music and a lot of food!
I hope people will look up the ADA and embrace it!
Bravo to all the people in the Disability Rights Movement who made sure the laws were created. Now it's up to us to make sure they're followed through!

Sold to Cobblestone Press!
I've been holding it in long enough. I subbed my story "Total Package" to http://www.cobblestone-press.com and they accepted it! They like me. They really really like me! Okay that's a bad Sally Field impersonation but I'm a writer not an actor, dammit.LOL
"Total Package" is an 16k erotic contemporary romance. I'm super excited about it and a tad overwhelmed. Any published authors who stop by please leave advice on promo, writing life and how to handle the anxiety!
I'll be posting promo events, excerpts, blurbs, cover and more real soon!!!

Good News Acoming!
I don't have much to blog about right now but in coming weeks I'll have PLENTY to talk about so just keep reading.(You know you wanna stay tuned!)
Couple of things I've been doing:
1. I'm almost finished completing my first short paranormal story. It's a 5k story aimed at Spice Briefs.
2. I"m halfway finished with my first full length erotica currently titled The Redeemable Dog. I haven't decided who I"m going to target yet but I'll keep you posted.
3. I've decided to take the plunge and will be signing up for a Twitter account. I think it will give me a bigger following here. I have no clue about this Twitter stuff and how it work out but I figured what the hell.
Stay tuned because I'll have a special announcement on Wednesday!
Keep reading. Keep dreaming!

My Other Addiction
Writing has always been an addition of mine. Every time I think I'll quit my muse whispers in my ear, "Come back. There's work to do." When I don't listen to it it screams, "ASS IN SEAT AND WRITE!" And once again I'm a willing slave to the craft. I love the idea of creating characters and settings taking readers places they never thought possible. I've recently listened to those voices and started working on my first erotic paranormal short story! I'm super excited and it's almost done. To treat my self I've decided to talk about my other addiction: coffee.
Dark roast, mocha, cappuccino, latte, espressos,I love them all! Except for decaf of course. I think decaf is Satan answer to a perfectly good drink. The new hip craze in coffee is the single serve coffee makers. Currently, I have a Tassimo coffee maker but now it's time to upgrade it. I can't decide whether to get the newer Tassimo machine, Nescafe Dolce Gusto,Keurig,or the Flavia maker.
Tassimo-Despite what I've been reading about it, it's been reliable going two yrs strong and I'm use to the taste.
Keurig-I like the different varieties and its simple to use. Plus I've heard great things about it.
Dolce Gusto- I like the versatility of this maker and it makes ice coffee and I'm hearing good things about it. Plus it's super cute. (I'm such a girl)
Flavia-I figured anything by Mars must be good. I like that it's versatile like the DG and it too makes ice coffee. The only drawback is not a lot of favorable reviews by owners.
Do you own any of these machines? What's your thoughts? Any I should give consideration to not mentioned?
Okay enough procrastinating and back to writing.
